The Sims Social is the rapidly-growing, massively popular Facebook variation of the popular PC game series. It’s the first of the ‘life simulator’ games that inspired games such as Second Life, and now it’s on Facebook with numerous variations in gameplay that cater specifically to the social side of things. But enough about that, if you’re reading this you already know what The Sims Social is about, so I’ll just get straight to the game-related stuff.
When you’re taking care of your Sim’s needs (eating, social, hygiene, sleeping, bladder, fun), most of the time that you take doing that is actually spend waiting for your sim to walk around to each individual station, doing whatever it is you need to do. So to speed up the game significantly, use the “move” tool to place all of the stations (the bed, the fridge, the toilet, the sink, the shower, the computer, etc) right next to each other. But make sure to leave just enough walking space that your Sim can get to all of them without having to walk all the way around. Doing this will speed up the game because it will take away the number one reason for slowing down the game.
A problem that is common in The Sims Social, especially when it comes to buying stuff for outside of your house, is that you can never put anything behind a wall, even if there’s actually empty space behind a wall. To fix this, simply go to your house and then go to the upper right corner of your game screen. There should be a list of icons with six different buttons such as “zoom in”, “zoom out” etc. Click on the button that looks like an empty square, and your walls will automatically disappear. Now, you can build things in areas where you previously couldn’t build before.
To try to date or become good friends with another sim, first, you have to be friends. Build your friendship meter higher and higher by either doing various social actions or by watering their plants. Once it’s maxed out, you have two options. You can do a friendly action, and the game will prompt you to send an invite to be “Good friends” with your friend. Or you can do a flirty action, and the game will prompt you to begin “Dating” your friend. Send the invite, and wait for your friend to reply back, and if they do, then congratulations, you are now lovers, or good friends!
You used to be able to water your friend’s plants for free money. Previously, any plant you water in your friend’s yard would earn you 20 simoleans. Now, though, you will earn only 5 simoleans for watering your friend’s plants. Even still, though, it’s free money and an easy way to increase your friendship meter and make money just for doing it.
