Toon Squad: Tips, Tricks, Cheats, and Strategy Guide

Toon Squad is a combination of two of the most popular game styles for mobile: the match-three puzzle game and the MMORTS/city building game. You get to build a base which looks a hell of a lot like Clash of Clans, but then your methods of battle are by out-puzzling the other guy. Read on for some tips and tricks for Toon Squad!

You’ll need to meet specific requirements for almost every single upgrade or construction of a building that you do, but an easy way to follow your upgrade needs is to try to upgrade something (any random thing, or whatever it is that you want to upgrade), and if you aren’t able to, go to the requirements list right below and follow any links to what you need to upgrade. If you can’t upgrade that prerequisite, follow a link again. Rinse, lather, repeat.

For the battles, just like in Candy Crush there are special pieces, and they will be the most effective. The striped piece and the rainbow piece will clear a line and clear a whole color, respectively. Mix two of these pieces together for massive effects and tile-clearing. Mixing two rainbow pieces will clear everything on the entire board, for example.

If you want to get an advantage, then always pay attention to the element of you and your character. Fire will beat earth, water will beat fire, and so on, although for non-specific characters such as Zark Muckerbug, you’ll have to look at their individual stats to figure out how much damage per tile that they do with each element.

Cash and oil are your main currencies, and gems or diamonds are your premium currency. To get more gems for free, first, join a squad. Also, complete the achievements that the game gives you for some free gem rewards. Getting rid of the rocks and trees won’t earn you gems unlike in Clash of Clans, but you will clear space for more buildings in your base.

Keep your residences and your team centers upgraded, especially, so that you can maximize the space in your squad, and the amount of power that your active team can have at once. Use your laboratory to merge any of your unwanted toons into your rare toons in order to make them more powerful. You’ll especially need to do this as opposing players become more powerful. Use rare and legendary characters as the cornerstones of your active team.
