Specific missions often have DNA for specific heroes, so keep note of which missions contain the DNA for which heroes. Play these missions over and over again to earn more and more DNA for them. Oftentimes you’ll be able to “rush” a mission that you have earned a three-star score on in order to complete it instantly, so do that whenever you can in order to speed along the earning of DNA fragments.

Use your Helix Credits wisely. Once you have 1,800 of them, use them to purchase 10 DNA Cubes. Each DNA Cube contains a significant amount of DNA, and frequently, when you buy ten of them at once, you’ll find enough DNA to unlock a new hero or two, as well as tons of other DNA to add to your pile. You’ll get a bonus free hero when you buy this, too. Also be sure to collect your free cubes when possible.

Earning more Helix Credits helps in the first place, and while the main way to earn them is through purchasing them using in-app purchases, you can get a lot of free ones, too.
