Godzilla Defense Force: Walkthrough, Cheats, Tips, and Strategy Guide

Godzilla Defense Force is a new iOS and Android idle defense game where you defend against all sorts of Kaiju as well as mini monsters. You can send your troops out manually or send artillery out automatically, all in an effort to protect the city from multiple Godzillas and other legacy monsters such as Mothra and Rodan.

Your Earth Defense Force can move from city to city to protect London, Tokyo, New York, and more against the attacks brought on by the kaiju, and you can send survivors to the moon to colonize and mine it, as well.

You can even earn gems, collect cards to use kaiju in battle yourself, time travel, and fight against tougher and tougher enemies. They may seem impossible to beat sometimes without using the ad bonuses, but there are ways.

Read on for some tips and tricks for Godzilla Defense Force!

Tapping on the screen in the most basic way to do damage right at the outset and even when you begin to build your artillery installations, it still proves to be indespensible for maximizing your damage. But maximize your taps by tapping on the screen with more than one alternating finger at a time.

How many you should use (between 2 and 6) depends on your standard tapping speed. Monitor the DPS (damage per second) while you are tapping to figure out how many fingers to use for tapping to make the most DPS.

For both your troops (Command Center) and your other installations (barracks, tank factory, etc), work on filling your ugprade bar. The bar denotes major upgrades at levels 25, 50, 100, 150, etc, each of which provides a massive upgrade and multiplier to the amount of damage that it does.

The level milestones are one of the quickest ways to massively increase your DPS. The other way is to unlock a brand new, previously-locked type of weapon station. The new one will make a huge and immediate difference toward your overall DPS, while the early level-ups will continue making a huge difference per amount of money spent.

Using your cards:

You earn cards whenever you beat bosses or open card packs, most of which are designed after Godzilla and other kaiju, but some of which are designed after military weapons and other related goodies. Equip the rarest and most damaging ones, then use them in battle for a giant advantage.

Look for any one of the cards with an up icon next to it, and you can upgrade it to the next level. Lower-tier cards are easier to upgrade, and often, leveling a lower-tier one can make it more effective than using a higher-tier card, such as a three, four, or five-star card.

How to beat all kaiju bosses:

Every ten levels or so, a boss will come up. It will be either one of the big bads from a specific Godzilla movie, or it will be Godzilla in the flesh. These bosses seem like they’re the toughest thing in the game to beat, but it’s actually doable.

First of all, tap as rapidly as possible, and second, maximize your idle DPS. Third, watch for the “WEAK” flashing area to appear and then tap it so that you can do massive amounts of damage against the boss.

Additionally, use your cards wisely against the boss. Pick the most damaging card that you can, especially the one that fits best with your defense types, and use that one to do gigantic amounts of damage.

Doing all these, you can win without using the ad video bonuses, but if you don’t care about trying to avoid them, just use them. Use the boost x1 video bonus to get a huge damage and production boost. Use the video offer at the top of the “defeat” screen to get a ton of coins all at once so that you can spend them on upgrades.

Unlocking a new city:

Get far enough into the game and you can unlock a new city. Tokyo will obviously be your first city, but then you have London, New York, Los Angeles, and a whole range of different cities with their own set of kaiju, as well as their own set of difficulties.

Money is transferable back and forth between cities in this game. You can earn a ton of money in London, for example, then go back to Tokyo and purchase a gigantic quantity of upgrades. You can then collect idle money from all of your cities and use them to upgrade your main city.

And even if you get a new city, you can go back to your old cities whenever you want to. Just hit the globe menu and you can pick whatever city you want.

Use quests and achievements to earn a lot of money and X-nium

One of the best ways to earn a ton of coins is to complete the city quests. There are three of them at any given time, and when you complete one, you can collect the reward and a new quest will appear in its place. The reward always consists of coins.

Now as for the achievements, these are located inside of the planet menu. Go to the planet menu, tap on the trophy icon, and if there is an “n” next to it, there will be achievement rewards to collect, all of which consist of X-Nium. That’s the premium currency of the game (looks like blue diamonds).

Civilians, Moon Mining and Moonstones:

Tap on civilians when you see them and you will be able to save them. Save your civilians and they’ll go to the moon, where they will get to work as moon miners.

Once they’re there, you can assign them to various portions of the moon, where they’ll mine for moonstone. That takes some time to complete unless you hit the boost button, which uses either an ad video or X-Nium to speed things along.

Keep collecting it often, even if at first you don’t see what you can spend it on. You can spend it on a Moonstone Card Pack in the shop, which has rarer cards and requires no X-Nium to purchase.

Time Travel and Artifacts:

Time travel is this game’s version of prestige. It takes forever to get to Command Center HQ level 5, but that is what is required in order to unlock it for the first time.

Once you time travel, you’ll earn an exclusive and special currency that can only be gotten from time travel. Use that currency to buy artifacts and then to upgrade artifacts that you already have.

Artifacts can give boosts such as DPS modifiers and permanent coin boosts; upgrade them to make the pre-existing boosts even more effective. For example, a 100% DPS boost can be upgraded to 150%, then 200%, and more.
