Dice Mage 2 – Tips and Tricks Guide: Hints, Cheats, and Strategies

Dice Mage 2 is the sequel to the addictive little RPG roguelike from a couple of years back, and this one is extremely addicting, even moreso than the last one. Your goal is to upgrade your equipment, make it as far as you can, and then when you get killed, do it all over again and try to make it even further. Gems can be bought or earned, and chests and boosts are up for grabs. Read on for some tips and tricks for Dice Mage 2!

Most of the equipment that you earn will be obsolete eventually even if it’s legendary equipment, due to the magic of equipment levels. As you go further into the game, you will see the same equipment come up again and again, but it will level up, so the stat effect (health boost or attack boost) will be higher for the same type of equipment.

Attack power and boost is a big part of the equation with your books, but it’s not the only part of the equation. Your element types are important; chief of all is healing of some type, because this will get you back into the game without you having to spend your gems on health boosts in the store. Aside from the main healing element, the vampire element (the teeth) will drain energy from your opponents and refill yours.

Watch your opponent’s roll before you decide what dice to use. If your opponent rolls snake eyes or a 1-2, then there’s no reason to use a 10 or a 20 unless you have nothing else. Use your damage doubler (the ninja star) or your attack booster especially after rolling your first die if it has a high number. The attack booster also pairs well with a fire or ice roll.

You can fight the boss as early as you want into a round, but unless you don’t care how far you’re going to get, destroy every basic enemy first. Not only will you either get a health boost or an attack boost for every enemy that you beat, you also stand a good chance of earning a few gems as well.

Save your charge attack until you need to get out of a sticky situation, or especially for a boss. The charge attack will do double the damage of a standard attack, plus it will re-roll all of your dice and all of your enemy’s dice, so it’s best left until they roll high numbers, or you get stuck with dice that don’t have spells or that are all sixes.
