How to play MinoMonsters for iPhone: Walkthrough, FAQ and Beginner’s Guide, part 2

Welcome to part 2 of the MinoMonsters beginner’s guide. Click here to go back to part 1 of the guide to how to play MinoMonsters.

When you are at your home page, Hit the “team” button and you can modify your team of monsters (once you have more than three monsters), switching out monsters and adding new monsters into your squad. To do this, hit the “switch” button in the upper right corner, then tap the little “list” shaped button on the right hand side of the monster’s name.

Now, once you are ready to fight, go to the “islands” button. You have four main islands, each with four stages, with each stage having a number of battle areas. Tap on a battle area with a monster on it to fight that monster. Once you fight them and win, the battle area will regenerate over time. When it’s done regenerating, a round bush will appear over the battle area, and when you tap it, you can reveal what pops up next.

Most of the time, what pops out of the bush will be a set of three Grublings, but oftentimes a box containing a bunch of hearts, experience points or special move energy will pop out. Sometimes, a different monster pops out, such as an actual MinoMonster that you can catch. Battle them, and drain their hit points to where they are at a low level, and you will be able to catch them using a Candy. Sometimes a monster will fend off the candy, which means you should drain their hit points a little bit more, if you can, and then throw another one.

In battle, you have multiple attack types, including one regular attack and multiple special attacks, each of which you unlock as you gain experience levels. On level-ups that you don’t learn a new attack, you will earn a bonus allowing you to increase either your defense, attack, or special attack by an extra 20 points. Each of your special attacks costs a certain number of special energy (represented by the lightning bolts that you pick up) to execute.
