Try to gravitate towards the off-road or off-highway areas when you’re driving the car. These tend to be where more of the items are that you can smash. Power slide into them in order to take out a whole bunch of them at once.
There are a few easy ways to take out the cops if you don’t have the ram upgrade. One of them is to go to the off road area and slide around near the edge of the cliffs. When you do this, the cops will blindly follow you, and they will end up sliding themselves right off a cliff. Another way is to start spinning/doing donuts at high speed in order to shake them off of you when they turn red (when they are about to smash you).
Still another way to take out cops who are chasing you is to try to run them into something when they get on the side of you. When they begin the approach, start moving in their direction, toward a wall, another car, etc. This sets the stage for running them off the road and into a hill, car or whatever you can run them into.

Upgrade not just your smash power, but buy a new car as well in order to increase the amount of things that you can smash in a stage, as well as how much longer you can last before your car gets blown up. The better car that you have, the more hits you can take before you get blown up.
Has you wanted level gotten too high, but you want some extra smash bucks or bandit chips? Go to the store and you’ll be able to watch videos in order to earn both of them for free. You can watch them for as long as you like until you literally run out of videos to watch. Then, come back later and there will be more videos.
Always follow the white arrow that points you in the direction that you should be going. This is going to be the way to typically go the most meters and rack up the highest ratings in the shortest amount of time, but make sure to smash stuff on the way, too.
