Just like the way it was in the previous Smurfs game, this game is mostly about growing crops, building, and completing quests. There will be times when you are completely out of quests and the only way to get more of them is to gain experience. The quickest way to do this is to have as many form so that you can grow loads of crops. The more crops that you grow, the more experience points you can get.
There will be times when you have to deal decorations for the purpose of completing quests, but most of them have other uses too, such as mini games. For the ones that do not have any more use besides quest completion, you can always sell them in order to make space in your village. This is an easy way to avoid running out of space.
Magic acorns are the premium currency of the game. Their main use is to purchase the houses of specific Smurfs that you may remember from the shows or the movies. Once you purchase a new Smurfs house, you will unlock a whole series of quests that relate to that Smurf. The main way to earn more free acorns is to complete the quests that you have been given. Otherwise, generally, you end up having to purchase them.
As for the normal Smurfs huts, always have as many of them as possible because the more of them that you have, the more Smurfs that can have and the more Smurfs that you have, the more stuff that you can get done at the same time. Each farm plot requires one Smurf in order to tend, so the more Smurfs that you have, the more stuff that you can grow.
Be sure to check the calendar every day to see which will give you a bonus when you grow them. It will be a different crop every day, and you will get three crops for every one that you plant instead of the usual two. Also, when you unlock a new characters, you will also unlock new things that you can plant, such as flowers for Smurfette.
