Getting a new license might be tempting at first, but it’s VERY time consuming and difficult to save up for one unless you have completely filled up your current continent with train stations and railroads. The more trains, cities and railroads that you have, the more jobs that you can do at the same time (and the more deliveries that will pop up for Bux), which will speed you along in earning the necessary coin to buy a license.

If you have a killer delivery but it’s not part of the current train’s route, you can buy the route for a few hundred coins. Normally, this isn’t really worth it, but if you have the option of doing a delivery that fulfills event requirements, pays you Bux or pays you in crates, then it’s worth it.

Upgrade the Stockyard capacity and you will be able to leave more train cars at a station for another train to pick up. This is extremely useful for when you want to do one of the above premium deliveries, don’t have the right routing, and don’t have enough coins to buy the right routing, or even just as a space filler on your train for deliveries that would normally be undoable.

The Shutdown Line option in the “Trains” menu makes no sense early on in the game, but it can be quite useful later on in the game if you want to move a train car to a new continent. In fact, it’s the only real way to move a train car from one continent to another one that’s completely overseas – for example, from Europe to North America, or from Australia to Africa.
