Each new stage provides new scenery and new challenges. Each stage that you unlock is tougher than the stage before it; however, each subsequent stage also offers you an increasingly higher and higher coin multiplier, which makes the difficulty worth it. For example, the first stage that you unlock, the suburbs, automatically multiplies any coin that you earn in the stage by 2.
As you play, often, ads will pop up in the game. They are annoying, but they’re what the company has to do to make money. If you don’t see an X button to immediately close the ad, tap the ad itself and a pop up will give you the option to “skip” the ad. Tap that and the ad will close.
Deceleration can be used to your advantage. When real fast zombies or chasing you, push against a wall or run into a stationary zombie or a roadblock, and zombies will run ahead of you if they don’t crash into the back of you. When a zombie runs ahead of you or to your side, you can then sideswipe them or rear end them and kill them, rather than them killing you.
Otherwise, to kill running zombies, run them into cars or solid walls, or other zombies. For some reason, running them into roadblocks doesn’t kill them; however, if you see a ramp and you jump off of the ramp, and a zombie follows you, they will die instantly. Zombies will focus in on you and line up with you – they won’t pay attention to any obstacle that’s in their way, so they’re fairly easy to run into stuff.
Connecting the game to Facebook won’t allow you to challenge your friends directly, but you can then share your “banner” which is found by going to the garage and pressing the banner button.
Finally, tap on the trophy icon on the main menu and you can see all kinds of objectives that you can complete. Each time that you complete one of these side objectives, you’ll earn bonus coins for doing so. Hit the button that looks like bar graphs to see your all time stats, such as meters run and zombies killed. Hit the podium shaped button (the 1-2-3 button) to show who the all time leaders, both among your friends and among all the players in the game, are on Game Center.
