Sky Whale is Nickelodeon’s new game for the iOS and Android. Your goal is to jump Sky Whale, a goofy looking narwhal with an odd assortment of clothes, as far as you possibly can, using all of the clouds, monkeys, toilets and all of the other goofy stuff that you can hit, to propel you forward. You can tap the screen in order to jump again, but every jump that you make uses donuts. You start off with four donuts, so you have to use them wisely. If you are going to use them, try to use them when you are almost directly underneath something, such as a donut or a monkey, or anything else that you can jump off of.
The farther you go, the more sand dollars you earn. Sand dollars are the currency of the game and will allow you to buy boosts and wearables. If you collect wearables you will be able to go underwater after you fall, rather than just dying. The boosts will appear suspended in midair, giving you more stuff to hit.
Once you go underwater, the game works the same way, except upside down, and you have different power ups that you can earn. It’s a little tougher to go for a long distance underwater, but if you stop hitting the boosts you’ll jump right back up. Save your donuts underwater so that when you jump back up into the air, you can use them again.
Not all jumping boosts are equal. Some of the best ones are the monkey, which propels you VERY high, and the nose, which shoots you forward at a high speed, helping to increase your distance. Hitting multiple of these boosters in a row can make for easy huge combinations. Jump high enough and you will even get propelled into outer space.
Once you get shot into outer space, the gravity decreases. The higher you go into space, the lower gravity gets, enabling you to stay airborne for a REALLY long time if you have enough donuts, and really good timing. Keep in space for as long as possible and you will easily break distance records.
Look for such boosts as the giant jelly donut and the rainbow donut, and you’ll end up with a whole lot of donuts. The giant jelly donut, in particular, will explode into dozens of smaller donuts. Collect as many of them as you can and you’ll stay in the air for a LONG time if you use them wisely.
