Soulcalibur Unbreakable Soul is a new card battling RPG (yes, you read that right) by Bandai Namco for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Despite being part of a genre that seems wholly designed to piss off purists, this actually does quite a bit of justice to the original series with one of the most engaging and fast paced battle systems in any mobile RPG. Read on for some tips and tricks for Soulcalibur Unbreakable Soul!
The main idea of the battle system is that you can choose a line of up to four attacks to unleash at any given time on an enemy, out of six card slots that are constantly filling up. Crash a line of three or more identical cards into each other, though, and the damage will be significantly multiplied. Use up cards that block potential combo lines, so that you can build the biggest combos possible, which do insane amounts of damage to the enemy. An 11X combo card, for instance, will be almost unstoppable.
Pick the strongest helper card that you can before each battle begins. Look at their rarity first, then their experience level, for an idea of which ones are stronger. Put your strongest and rarest card as your leader as well, so that you can get more friend requests. In addition, look for people who post their friend codes in the App Store, the comment section of this article and other places, if you want to add even more people quickly, allowing you to earn weapon medals faster.
You can have three avatars and nine weapons at a time, which can get a bit complicated. To make it easier to deal with your team, go to the card menu, then to the “edit team” menu, and auto edit your team. The best possible cards will automatically be added to your team at this point. Do this any time that you get new cards.

If you get a new rare avatar, the deck won’t let you put it in unless all nine of your weapons are unique, with zero repeats. Rectify this by going back to your old deck, fighting more battles, and earning more weapon medals, then using them to open more weapons in the card store. Keep going back to your deck editing menu to change around your deck until it finally works.
Still having a hard time on tough fighters? Go back to old stages and fight the ones you have already beaten, so that you can continue earning rewards. Use reinforcement to sacrifice unused cards to help new cards gain levels more quickly, and use the Resonance option to add marginally to the rarity of identical cards (sacrificing one of the cards in the process), while also increasing their stats and experience level.
