Thor: The Dark World is the new Thor movie that’s coming out on November 8th, but the iOS and Android tie-in game is out right now. This is the second Thor game to come out for both app stores, and Thor: TDW mixes elements of the action-adventure in the original game with some reverse tower-defense style gameplay. Your goal is to progress through the nine worlds, collecting all of the stars in the game, while also earning rune coins, Iso-8 and Uru. Read on for some tips and tricks for Thor: TDW!
It doesn’t take long at all for stages to toughen up in this game. When faced with a tough stage that you can’t beat, go back to an older stage and beat it again a few times. Beat it as many times as you need in order to earn the necessary runes to upgrade your Einherjar and Thor himself, and until you get enough Iso-8 to upgrade Thor’s skills, then go back to the stage.
Uru is the premium currency, but it’s rather tough to come by. Check out the offer wall in the in-game app store for many ways to get some free Uru, though. Complete enough offers and you’ll end up being able to buy a premium suit or hammer for free.
If you are running low on hit points, hang back for awhile, because if you stand still, your health will recover up until the health bar gets out of the red. Send your Einherjar in to do the battle for you, especially warriors because they have the strongest defense until you start unlocking the more advanced Einherjar. Oftentimes, they can even beat the stage for you.
Don’t be stingy with the use of your skills either. Use them as often as you can, especially when you have quests that require you to speed run through the stage, or to finish with a high percentage of your health intact. Use them as often as you can, especially when there are a lot of enemies on the stage.
Skills work on a chain – you have to upgrade one skill high enough to unlock the ability to upgrade another skill. The locked skills will be unmarked until you get to them, but tap on the skill’s individual bubble and you will still be able to see all of the details about it, as well as what you need to do in order to unlock the skill upgrades.
