Your character moves back and forth automatically while you tap to dig down one square. If you tap rapidly, though, especially with two alternating fingers, then you will dig so fast that your character will go almost straight down. This is a good way to rush quickly to the next level especially if there is a straight shot without too many obstacles.
After each level, you will be able to activate a checkpoint so that the next time you restart, it’s from that level. If you want to spend coins, you can spend them; if you don’t, you will be able to activate the checkpoint by watching an advertisement video for free. Or, if you don’t care, you can simply skip past it and continue on to the next level with no delays and no coins spent.
You get one free level skip every hour. Once you use a level skip, if you do not want to wait an hour for the cool down timer to finish, go to the date and time settings on your phone and set the time ahead by an hour, and then go back to the game and you will be able to use your skip immediately. You can do this cheat as many times as you want, but once you set the time in the game back to normal, the cheated-off cool down time will be added back on.

Use your coins to purchase power-ups as well. Once you buy a power-up, the icon will appear permanently at the bottom of the screen. Once you use it, a cool down bar will appear, and once the bar is full, the ability will be available for you to use once again. The more power-ups you buy, the bigger advantage you will go into the game with.
To increase the coins that you earn, purchase the Double Coin multiplier. Also, purchase the X-Countersink and you will be able to drill through the gray blocks. Starting at level 6, there will be loads of coins hidden behind these unbreakable blocks, but if you use the X-Countersink, you will be able to break through these blocks and collect all of the coins.
