Battles can be as automated or as manual as you want them to be. For the most part, the easiest way to battle is by automating them and speeding them up as much as possible, so that you can get through them quickly. For the toughest battles, though, you’re going to want to make the manual so that you can choose when to use your special moves, and who to use them against.
In general, the campaign battles will be the easiest ones. The limited edition daily dungeons and kizuna battles will be a little bit tougher, but the arena battles will be the toughest ones of all, because you will be facing off against people who are fairly equally matched to you. These are the battles that are going to be the most strategically intense.
Use the gacha as much as possible in order to unlock as many characters as possible; the more characters that you unlock, the more chances that you have to find 4-star, 5-star, and 6-star characters. Claim every possible reward that you can in order to unlock awaker scrolls, and then use them to continuously summon new characters.
There are many ways to upgrade your characters in the cast area. Level training allows you to increase their experience levels simply by spending your gold, and you earn a ton of gold as the game goes on, making this easy to use. Focus on your highest star characters first.
Transcend allows you to spend up to 10 trainer cards at a time in order to increase the maximum experience level of one of your characters. These trainers can be unlocked in the summoning area.
Skill up allows you to use a character’s duplicate card, sacrifice it, and unlock a brand new skill for one of your characters. This can either be a technique that is used in battle, or a permanent percentile boost in statistics.
Rank up, which is arguably the most effective upgrade of all, allows you to add one star to the star rarity tier of your character, making it possible to turn any character into an extremely rare or epic 5 star or 6 star character. You need evolution gems for these. Evolution gems can be found in daily dungeons or in the campaign.
Relics can be unlocked and used to power up your characters. These relics include starshards, soulmirrors, and bloodpacts. Go to this menu to equip them on your characters, upgrade them, or sell them.

Be sure to collect every single reward that you possibly can. Go to the missions area, go to your Mail, go to sign-up rewards, and go to weekly best sellers in order to find all of your rewards.
