Battles can be sped-up by either going to auto-mode or fast forwarding to 2x or 3x speed (or both), but if you’re fighting an extra tough battle, avoid the auto-battles so that you can execute the strategy yourself. Attack an enemy with different types of attack elements to find out what their weakness is, then hammer them with it.

Often you’ll get to negotiate with a demon for the opportunity to try to recruit them to your party. You have to talk to each demon in its own specific way, but in general, be conversational and throw a little bit of humor and sarcasm their way. When they offer to join, they’ll request an item, but even if you don’t have it, you can still often win them over, either by being honest or by tricking them.

If you have a few gems, throw some of them at summoning rare demons using the superior summons; summon files are required for the normal summons. Do the summons, then go back to your party screen and figure out whose party you want to put the demons in, and if their stats and uses beat those of your current party, add them. If they are rarer but their stats are lower, then some level-ups will fix their low stats.

Even if you get a duplicate demon, it could be of a different star tier. The higher the star tier, the higher the maximum level of the demon, meaning the more powerful that they will be. Keep this in mind for when you are merging demons in the Church of False Gods; sometimes you’ll get a lower-starred or a higher-starred demon than the two that you begin with, but check the other stats when you do.

Some of the best advice on how to use each individual demon is in the rating area, which is located in each demon’s profile. Here, individual players can post ratings for a demon. Most will be useless or jokes, but some ratings here and there will give you actual advice on how best to use a demon.
