UkiyoWave: Top Tips, Walkthrough, Cheats, and Strategy Guide

UkiyoWave is a casual surfing game for the iOS and Android platforms where you essentially surf inside of a Japanese painting. Your goal is to get the highest score possible, both on the free Kanagawa Stage and on several premium levels with different methods of play. You can both unlock new characters and unlock new levels. Read on for some tips and tricks for UkiyoWave!

In the free Kanagawa stage, the method of play is very simple. All that you have to do is aim your character against the break and avoid sinking to the bottom of the level; if you fall off of the bottom, your run is over. Collect the fans to increase your score mightily; the first fan is worth five points, the next is worth ten, the next is worth 15, and so on. Every fan that you collect is worth 5 more than the previous fan that you collected.

You get a free trial run of the Moonlight stage, but after that first run, it will be locked until you pay for it. In this one, there are no breaks, but you can swipe up to do a short jump. Your main point-earning method is collecting crane feathers. Jump over the hat though, and you will earn an even bigger score boost.

RedFuji stage offers yet another variation on the gameplay. You have to collect fish and birds. As you collect them, you rack up a combo score, but if you miss one of them, you’ll break the combo. When the combo is broken, you will learn a number of points based on how big your combo is.

The last premium level is the Dan-no-ura level. In this one, you have to collect the ghosts to rack up a combo. When you collect a fan, then the combo will end and the stocked souls will turn into points. You can avoid a fan if you want to risk it and keep the combo going for more points.

There are a number of other characters that you can unlock, including a frog. If you pay for the premium version, then you get unlimited use of all of the bonus characters. If you don’t, then you can still watch an ad video for each use of a new character. The new characters play the same way as the main character, but their animations are different during the game.
