Fortress Kings is a new MMO real-time strategy game for the iOS and Android platforms by Xyrality, who had the smash-hit Lords and Knights back in the old days of mobile gaming. The goal in this game, as in that one, is to build a powerful kingdom and become the dominant one in your server, but with updated graphics and interface to reflect 2019 mobile gaming.

You can collect wheat, wood, stone, ore, clay, iron, and gold as your resources. You can build up a huge army (the bigger the better), join an alliance, and fight for domination of your server and your world.

Your first step is to build up your kingdom, but the kingdom is huge and difficult to navigate. An easy way to find out what to do next is simply to tap the task button. Pick something to upgrade from there, then go there and tap the upgrade button.

If you want to hide a ton of resources from other players, though, don’t collect your task rewards. This will require navigating the kingdom yourself; just upgrade everything that you can and then ignore the tasks area until you need the resources for various purposes.

You can recruit four different types of troops, consisting of infantry, artillery, cavalry, and special troops. From the beginning you can recruit infantry, but you will need the firing range to get artillery, the stables to get cavalry, and then the fortified tower to get your special troops.

Build all of these as soon as you can, and then start maximizing the size of your army. Battling is a numbers game, primarily, but be sure to upgrade your military buildings so that you can unlock more advanced and powerful troops, too.
