Unlike most games of this type, where the goal is simply to hit the note before it falls off of the screen, you will also earn a higher score based on where on the track you hit the note. Hit it low on the track, in the “perfect” zone to get a perfect for that note. Your goal is to get all perfects on each song, but even if you don’t get the entire song perfect, get as many of the notes perfect as possible.

Depending on how well you do on a level, you’ll earn more or less coins for beating it. Coins can be used later in the game for purchasing levels, with some levels costing as little as 500 coins, and others costing as much as 50,000 coins. So save up and use your coins wisely. They can also be purchased in the store by spending gems.

Gems are the premium currency of this game, and while the main way to earn them is via in-app purchase, you can also earn gems for free in a variety of ways. Go to the store and watch an ad video to earn five gems. Complete various quests that you find around the song list in order to earn free gems, as well. Also, complete offers in the store area to earn gems. Some of these offers are free, while others cost money, but involve purchasing something else and loading up on gems as well.

You have 15 lives to start off the game, and each time that you play a level, one of your lives gets used. There are a few ways to get your lives back. One is to simply wait for them to come back. The other is to watch ad videos for five lives apiece, or use coins to purchase anywhere between 5 and 20 lives. There is no maximum for lives; you can have as many of them as you want if you purchase or use a video for them.

Tap on the music note menu to see all songs, but tap on the social menu to see all sorts of other modes. Online mode lets you compete against other users for diamonds and coins.
