Early on you will only be able to fill your apartments with unemployed loafers, but as you progress through the game, you will unlock wealthier tenants. These tenants will have higher demands, though, so be sure to pay attention to what their requirements will be, because you don’t want to have unhappy tenants.
Tap the smiley face icon on the right side of the screen in order to see the overall satisfaction of your tenants, as well as specific things that they are saying. You can use their complaints as an easy cheat sheet to figure out what to upgrade next, but don’t get too worked up trying to get 100% satisfaction. If you’re over 50%, you will earn a rent bonus.

Once you do collect all of your offline income, go through the entire map to see what new apartments you can build, what furniture you can upgrade, and what businesses you can build and upgrade. Don’t forget to recruit tenants for your new apartments. After you finish spending what you can, go offline for a while again; this strategy works amazingly if you are the type of player that doesn’t play very frequently.
As you progress through the game and game levels, you will be able to open businesses, such as the diner in the laundromat. You can start upgrading them right away to serve more customers, accommodate, larger lines, and more, but don’t forget to hire people to work there. Hire them as needed, rather than blowing all of your cash on employees right at the beginning.
