In battle, you can either tap one tile, string two together, or make a square with four. Each color corresponds to a character, and each character has three distinct moves that are activated by the specific tile combination. The effects of the move will show when you tap and/or drag, before you let go of the screen, so pay attention to what the effect is so that you can use the best possible strategies in battle.
One unique feature of this game is that even the most common characters can be evolved into SSR, or super super rare, eventually, and even beyond SSR, all the way up to SSR+10. Resonance is what plays into that. You need character minerals in order to perform Resonance, and the higher the rarity you’re evolving to, the higher the total of crystals. It’s worth it, though, because your character’s base attack and stats will increase significantly.
Make use of all of the quests that are available in the game. Venture quests and event quests are the toughest ones, but will provide you with the biggest stash of watcher experience, resonance items, Curren, soul energy and materials. Story quests serve to advance the story of the game, while also providing rewards. Region quests are more for basic grinding, but be on the lookout for hidden secret materials, and collect them when you see them.
Follow the missions to consistently make fast progress. Limited missions will only appear for a limited amount of time. Progress missions most closely track general progress that you make in various quests and other aspects of the game. Character missions come from leveling and evolving your characters, while item missions come from collecting a specific number of certain types of items.
Be sure to join a guild as soon as you can. You and your guild can participate in quests and chat, but one of the biggest benefits is the guild market, which provides additional ways to earn items and character materials besides the main stores in the game.
