SkidStorm is a new racing game for the iOS and Android platforms where you race, drift, boost, and go up not only against computer-controlled players, but against challenge ghosts and even against real-life players also. You can compete for the best time on each track, on many different tracks, earn coins and diamonds, and get the fastest car to win each race with. Read on for the SkidStorm tips and cheats guide!
Turning requires a lot of drifting, and the drifting is useful in this game anyways because when you drift, you fill your nitrous box and enable yourself to use boosts, but also, don’t turn any more than you need to. The steeper your turn angle is, the more speed that you lose, and the less steep your turn is, the less speed that you lose. If you turn gradually, you don’t lose all that much speed, so prepare your turn beforehand.
Nitrous boosts should be used before you fill up your bar so that you can make it around the track as quickly as possible and win each race. If you let all three notches on the bar fill up, then you will stop earning nitrous until you use one of them. They provide not only a great speed boost around the straightaways, but if you handle them right, they allow you to stay fast in the turns as well.
Hit the garage to go to town on car upgrades. Upgrading speed increases your top speed, upgrading acceleration increases how quickly you can get up to the top speed, and then everything else is self-explanatory. You’re going to need to keep handling upgrades at pace with the speed upgrades, or it will become extremely easy to lose control of the car as it gets faster and faster.
Diamonds are the premium currency of the game. While the main way to earn diamonds is to buy them, there are plenty of ways to earn free ones. One way to get free diamonds is to go to the in-app store menu for diamonds, and tap the video button. Watch a video, and you will earn five diamonds. Plus, if you beat some of the crown challengers, then you will earn diamonds for every challenger that you beat.
If you need to grind for coins in order to get some upgrades, go back to a level that you have beaten already, but haven’t earned three stars on. Levels that you have one-starred are best, as stars two and three are worth 250 coins apiece, but even if you can turn a two-star into a three-star, that’s still worth enough coins for a good upgrade. Go to multiplayer and play there once you run out of energy or stars to add to your career-mode levels.
