Merge TD: Idle Tower Defense is a unique new blend of Tower Defense and idle clicker game. You can open boxes to collect gun towers, merge them together into more powerful gun towers, and use them to stop zombies and earn money.

Keep merging and focus on upgrading your maximum-level gun tower; when it gets to a certain level, you’ll have access to the store where you will finally be able to spend some of your hard-earned coins.

In here, you can buy gun towers that are higher than the maximum level. Often you will be able to get the highest-available gun tower for free by watching an ad video, but if you don’t want to mess with ad videos, play without a data connection (i.e. in airplane mode).

Every level that’s a multiple of 20 (20, 40, 80, 140, etc) contains a single boss character, and if you lose (which you most likely will the first time that you play it), you’ll get knocked back three levels.

The reason for this is so that you can kill some regular zombies for awhile in order to earn more cash and buy bigger upgrades from the store. If you didn’t have this built in, you would be stuck with tapping level-1 boxes and waiting for one ad video offer or another.

Offline income would be an option, though, and often, it still is the fastest way to earn money. The longer you’re offline for, the more you’ll earn. Always have an internet connection when you come back online so that you can earn double the offline income by watching an ad video.

Tap on the treasure chest box for all sorts of permanent boosts that you can buy. These include things like the minefield, mud pits, weaker enemies, or permanent supercharged damage from gun turrets.

Being that there is no premium currency in the game, they all cost real-life money; however, none of them are absolutely necessary to beat the game, either.

Tap the purple treasure box icon to collect your daily reward once per day. And look out for the next upgrade to the game, as that lock icon should be replaced with a new icon; potentially something such as the ability to prestige.

Watch for boosts not only to show up out of special treasure boxes, but to float down the river. Tap them and you’ll be able to watch an ad video in order to claim them; these include boosts such as 4x damage from turrets.

If you play the game on a device with no data connection, though (i.e. a tablet on an airplane), you’re not going to see these boosts appear. You’ll also not be able to take any ad video offers, though your pace of play will be uninterrupted, too.
